Recruitment fraud – what to know
We’re proud of our reputation at United Infrastructure and the opportunities we offer. However, we’re aware that recruitment fraud is on the rise, and scammers may try to use our name to send fake job offers or messages pretending to be from us.
We want to make sure you’re aware of this and know how to spot anything that doesn’t look quite right.
Things to watch out for
Fraudulent job offers often:
- Come from personal email addresses (like Gmail or Hotmail) rather than a unitedinfrastructure.com address
- Ask for money for things like training, equipment, or DBS checks
- Request personal information early on — such as your bank details or a passport scan
- Include poor grammar or formatting, or link to unfamiliar websites
- Refer to roles that aren’t listed on our official careers page
Just to be clear — we’ll never ask you to pay for anything as part of our recruitment process.
What a genuine process looks like
All of our hiring goes through a formal process, which includes:
- Interviews with our team, either virtually or in person
- Communication via a verified unitedinfrastructure.com email address
- A contract and onboarding process that only starts once we’ve made a formal offer
