We partnered with Cellnex UK to successfully deliver two standalone, private LoRaWAN networks designed to support nationwide utility and energy monitoring. Spanning approximately 700 sites across the UK, this £5m programme demonstrates our ability to deliver complex, large-scale IoT infrastructure with precision and efficiency.
Rolling out a nationwide LoRaWAN network across diverse and often challenging environments required careful coordination, technical expertise, and adaptability. Each site presented unique constraints, from varying infrastructure conditions to differing client expectations and operational requirements. Aligning multiple stakeholders was critical to ensuring clarity of scope, quality standards, and deployment timelines.
Additionally, maintaining consistency and quality across hundreds of sites posed a significant challenge. Without rigorous planning and testing, there was a risk of installation delays, inefficiencies, or performance issues post-deployment. The need for rapid rollout whilst ensuring long-term network reliability required a highly structured yet flexible delivery approach.
To overcome these challenges, we implemented a fully integrated, in-house delivery model that gave us complete control over every stage of the programme. Early engagement was key to overcoming the various challenges. We conducted detailed site meetings with end customers during pilot surveys to ensure all requirements were clearly understood and agreed from the outset. This collaborative approach continued through pilot construction and handover, enabling a smooth transition into full-scale deployment.
Our deep understanding of host network assets allowed us to optimise site selection and design, while rigorous bench testing of hardware before installation ensured a “right first-time” approach. This significantly reduced the risk of on-site issues and rework, accelerating deployment timelines and maintaining consistent quality.
Supporting our operational ground teams, the back-office function provided real-time technical, logistical, and operational support. This enabled us to respond quickly to challenges, keep the programme on track, and adapt to changing project requirements without disruption.
We also prioritised proactive communication and collaboration with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Our flexible approach allowed us to adjust programmes and develop effective solutions in response to unforeseen challenges, maintaining momentum and delivery confidence.
By leveraging our fully integrated, in-house expertise, we delivered a scalable and future-proof LoRaWAN network that enables smarter resource management.
