Completion of MBO of New Homes business

We are pleased to confirm that the management buy-out (MBO) of our New Homes business has now completed. This is an important milestone in the Group’s strategic refocus and a major opportunity for our New Homes colleagues as they move into their next chapter.

Andrew McDonough, formerly Managing Director of New Homes Multi-Family, has become the sole owner of this business. The remaining projects and colleagues from the Single-Family and Multi-Family teams will continue business-as-usual, ensuring continuity for all. Andrew will issue a statement in the coming weeks to outline their growth plans.

This transaction marks the formal conclusion of the Group’s involvement in the New Homes market and means the United Living brand has now been fully retired from the business. The New Homes team will continue to build on its strong reputation, long-term client relationships and proven track record of delivery.

As a reminder, this change follows last year’s confirmation that United Living Group (now United Infrastructure Group) would no longer be taking on new work within its New Homes business. That decision was part of our strategic shift towards the rapidly growing opportunities in decarbonisation, energy transition, digitalisation, and the wider UK infrastructure and property services sectors. Throughout this transition, the New Homes business has continued to deliver projects to the high standards for which it is known – standards that will continue to be met.

Although the parent company will now change, the employing legal entity will remain the same. There will be no impact to the teams and their conditions.

We would like to thank all colleagues for their contribution to the Group over many years and wish them every success for the future. For those remaining within United Infrastructure, our strategic direction is unchanged, and this step further sharpens our focus on our core growth markets while ensuring our former New Homes business is set up to thrive independently.
