United Infrastructure appointed to Wessex Water Minor Works Infrastructure Framework

United Infrastructure has been appointed by Wessex Water to deliver design-and-build services under its Minor Works Infrastructure Framework. This appointment marks the Company’s first framework award with Wessex Water for United Infrastructure’s Water business, creating new opportunities across AMP8.

Under the framework, United Infrastructure will deliver minor works packages covering water and wastewater projects across the South West of England, supporting Wessex Water’s ongoing investment in critical infrastructure and asset performance.

Wessex Water has structured the framework into two distinct lots. United Infrastructure’s AFECO business has been appointed to Lot 1 (Non-Infrastructure), and United Infrastructure’s Water business has been appointed to Lot 2 (Infrastructure), reflecting its expertise in delivering complex infrastructure solutions within the water sector.

As part of Lot 1, AFECO will deliver works including the refurbishment, replacement and provision of new ground and surface water production assets. The scope also includes disinfection systems, surge protection, chemical dosing, pumping systems, and the construction of new service reservoirs and associated inspections.

As part of Lot 2, United Infrastructure will be responsible for the installation and replacement of distribution mains, as well as the inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation of aqueducts, bridges, and tunnels. This scope also includes reservoir maintenance and upgrades, along with the refurbishment of stormwater management systems and sewage pumping stations.

United Infrastructure will provide comprehensive, multi-disciplinary design solutions across all projects, ensuring full compliance with project requirements and relevant regulatory standards while supporting efficient and effective delivery throughout the framework period.

Kelly MacFarlane, Managing Director, Water, United Infrastructure, said:

“This framework appointment is a significant milestone for United Infrastructure and reflects the strength of our capabilities in the water sector. Being selected by Wessex Water as a trusted delivery partner is a testament to our people, our collaborative approach, and our ability to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality infrastructure solutions.

“We look forward to working closely with Wessex Water throughout AMP8 to support the delivery of resilient water and wastewater assets across the South West.”
