delivering resilient power

Power for the next generation of data centres

The UK’s data centre sector is growing rapidly, but power infrastructure is struggling to keep up. AI, cloud and high-density compute are driving requirements of 50–100MWe or more, yet grid connection programmes alone can push viable projects years into the future, creating a critical gap between ambition and operational reality.

At United Infrastructure, we have created the UK’s most complete power and infrastructure package. We bring together a coordinated delivery plan, assembling the right time-to-power strategy for each project and building the infrastructure around it.

Whether that means a gas-fuelled standalone solution, HV or MV grid connection, a private HV/MV network, a hybrid model, or a phased bridge-to-grid solution, we don’t start with a preferred technology. We start with your site, your load, and your constraints, then deliver the fastest credible route to resilient, operational power.

We combine our own engineering excellence, network relationships, regulatory understanding and construction capability with a carefully selected network of specialist partners, giving us the breadth to identify the right path to energisation and the depth to deliver it.

trusted full service provider

Associated services

We deliver the full spectrum of power infrastructure that data centres depend on. From gas-to-power standalone grids with carbon capture capability, including HP/IP connections, PRS and AGI design, phased generation stacks and bridge-to-grid strategies – through to grid connections, network reinforcement, substations, HV cabling and DNO and IDNO engagement.

Where private networks are required, we design and deliver HV/MV solutions from source to data hall at 20kV, 33kV and 132kV. We also provide dynamic power stabilisation specifically optimised for AI workloads, with availability-led design that reduces dependence on large-scale batteries.

The delivery model

How we deliver

We start by understanding your requirements – load, site location, available grid capacity, environmental constraints and planning route.

We compare every option – grid-only, grid-plus-reinforcement, private network, on-site generation, gas-to-power, hybrid generation, renewables integration and phased bridge-to-grid options.

We bring DNOs, IDNOs, technology suppliers, planning teams and local stakeholders into one coordinated plan.

From FEED and consenting through to civil works, HV/MV electrical and gas infrastructure, PRS/AGI, substations, generation plant and commissioning.

We stay involved for the long-term, supporting inspections, maintenance, asset upgrades, carbon reduction, heat reuse and future grid transition as your site evolves.

Our other available capabilities include water and cooling infrastructure, district heating and heat reuse, fibre and digital connectivity, and white and grey space enablement.

Why United Infrastructure

Proven across infrastructure that data centres depend on

United Infrastructure delivers the critical infrastructure projects that underpin national growth.

Our teams work with major utility owners, network operators and private sector clients, bringing the programme discipline, safety culture and supply chain depth that large-scale data centre delivery demands.

  • Power capability across transmission, distribution, grid connections and private networks
  • Gas capability across HP/IP pipelines, PRS, AGI and compressor-related infrastructure
  • Data centre power expertise using scalable micro-grid segments and partner technology
