Our team has the capability to undertake a range of under-pressure and above ground operations. This includes modification to existing assets, rebuild of above ground installations or Pressure Reduction Stations (PRS). We specialise in the installation, maintenance and decommissioning of new and existing assets, and all associated works.
We support network operators to upgrade gas infrastructure across the UK. We replace existing gas pipelines, helping to minimise potential leakage and futureproof the network. We keep the gas flowing, whilst also supporting network upgrades to carry hydrogen in the future.
We deliver Intermediate Pressure (IP) and Medium Pressure (MP) pipeline diversions, surveying, designing, and undertaking complex operations.

We work on large scale and complex High Pressure (HP) gas pipelines for the UK’s asset owners, using our extensive experience of civil engineering, programme management and stakeholder management to survey, design and undertake complex operations.
Recognising the significant safety aspects of these projects, we ensure health & safety excellence in our delivery approach. We have a robust arrangement with recognised specialist suppliers to the gas industry.
Our services encompass pipeline and piping, Above Ground Installations (AGIs) and compressor rehabilitation, upgrade, diversion, re-location, and decommissioning.
As well as the installation of new compressor units and civil works required to integrate them with existing infrastructure facilities, our work includes the mechanical and electrical and instrumentation work associated with the unit and any suction, discharge, and recycle piping.
At United Infrastructure, we maintain close collaboration with manufacturers of compressor and pipeline infrastructure components, ensuring effective programming and the highest standards of quality to deliver exemplary project outcomes.
We’re experienced in delivering major compressor upgrades that have resulted in more environmentally friendly and efficient energy systems, significantly reducing environmental emissions, whilst increasing system capacity to ensure a safe gas supply to communities including homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.
We’re proud to have installed the UK’s first purpose-built compressor unit, which can enable the gas grid to accommodate unrestricted amounts of biomethane into the current gas network. Through our involvement in innovative projects, we are also supporting the transition towards a low carbon gas network.
