United Living launches apprenticeship scheme

This week, United Living Group launched 65 apprenticeship vacancies at key locations across the UK to upskill the next generation and provide them with the opportunity to get on the career ladder.

The apprenticeship programme will offer successful applicants the opportunity to ‘earn and learn’ by providing a direct route into the world of work whilst achieve a fully funded qualification in their chosen field at the same time. It will involve on-the-job training from our expert teams, a training & development programme, a competitive salary and staff benefits such as staff discounts.

As a member of the 5% Club, the Group is committed to having apprentices, graduates, and trainees makeup at least 5% of the workforce in the next five years.

Neil Armstrong, CEO and Chair, United Living Group, commented:  “We’re extremely proud of our apprenticeship scheme and the talented team members that have passed through it and stayed with the company over the years.

Recruiting new staff through apprenticeships & graduate positions enables us to deliver higher levels of quality and service, as well as building for the future through the provision of opportunities for young people starting out, and those who may be looking for a change of career.

Apprentices at United Living Group benefit not only from their occupational apprenticeship but also through broader developmental training; including health and safety, project management, communication, teamwork, leadership, and networking; ultimately helping to equip them with the skills required to build a successful career”.

Providing a personal insight on the experience of an apprenticeship, Charlie Bishop, Quantity Surveyor, United Living Property Services, said: “An apprenticeship is a great way to start your career in the construction industry. Earning your own salary whilst gaining an industry-recognised qualification.

The support I have received during my apprenticeship has been first-class. If you want the hands-on experience without the debt you will incur if you go to university, then an apprenticeship is the way to go”.

The programme will include apprenticeships in various disciplines within United Living Group – including project and site management, engineering, business administration and quantity surveying. Successful applicants will start in August/September 2023.
