United Living Property Services helps community group with park makeover

United Living Property Services (ULPS), in partnership with Clarion Housing Group, have completed a makeover of a local park in Bromley.

As part of the makeover, ULPS and Clarion Housing Group, with the support of partners Relative Groundwork Limited and UKG, have refurbished a large perimeter railing fence and handrail at Betts Park.

Working closely with the community group, Friends of Betts Park, ULPS have also completed works to the canal area to enable it to be safely used by members of the public.

The railing fence had not been regularly maintained. So, our ULPS team and UKG have given the railings a new life by repainting the metal work and repairing and staining the wooden rail.  The site at the end of the canal area was very overgrown, and the broken path meant it was unsafe for members of the public. Our ULPS team have repaired the path to make the land more manageable, so local schools and the community can now enjoy this area of the park.

Simon Will, Managing Director, United Living Property Services, said: “At United Living Group, we are a community-conscious business and strive to improve lives and homes. We are delighted to see the work completed so local people can enjoy Betts Park all year round.”

Walter Leonard, Chair of Friends of Betts Park, said: “At the beginning of this year, a meeting was held between the Friends of Betts Park, Clarion Housing and United Living Group to discuss how we could work together to give Betts Park a makeover to the benefit of the local community.

I can’t say thank You enough to Joanne Etchart from Clarion, who began the process. Andy Simpson at idverde who saw the potential, Molly Hewett at ULPS who coordinated the work and all the workers and operatives who gave their skills and effort to reshaping this area for the people of Betts Park and the local area.”

United Living Group is delivering many key projects in close partnership with Clarion Housing, including £28m worth of planned refurbishment and regeneration works in London and the south-east, and a £4m Social Housing Decarbonisation Demonstrator project in Tonbridge, Kent.
