In celebration of Armed Forces Week (22–28 June) we took the opportunity to recognise and thank our United Veterans community. Within our group we employ veterans, reservists, and military families who are valued parts of our organisation.
United Veterans Network
At United Infrastructure, we’re proud to support our Armed Forces community through this network, bringing together colleagues who have served, as well as those with serving family members.
Our goal is simple: to create a welcoming and supportive community where people can connect, share experiences, and support one another. Whether it’s offering advice, signposting useful resources, or simply providing a space to talk with people who understand, the network helps ensure these colleagues feel valued, connected, and supported at work.
A top choice for Veterans
As an organisation, we are proudly recognised by the Armed Forces Covenant with a gold status for our Connected business.
This month, we were voted in the Top 50 Employers of Armed Forces Veterans by Forces in Business, ranking at the 36th position, from over 14,000 organisations! This is no small feat for us – by championing our veteran community, we recognise the skills, commitment, and experiences they bring to our business.
We also caught up with Mick Corkhill, Head of SHEQ, Connected and our United Veterans Lead, to hear about his time in the Army, and his experience at United Infrastructure.
Mick served in the British Army for over 22 years before joining our business as a Health and Safety Advisor. He is now Head of SHEQ for Connected (our Telecoms business).
During his military career, he served with the 1st Battalion – The King’s Regiment, 2nd Battalion in The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, and the Royal Army Physical Training Corps.
